Despite severe weather warnings, the Relief of Derry celebrations in Londonderry got underway in style.

Around 8,000 Apprentices, from over 200 Clubs and Branch Clubs gathered for the parade, with 145 bands.

The attached slideshow gives a small flavour of some of the spectacle, which included a parade around the City Walls by the Parent Clubs as well as an act of remembrance and silence at the War Memorial in The Diamond, complete with bugler.
