Northern Ireland has recorded one of its youngest Covid-19 deaths within the last 24 hours.

One of two deaths recorded in the last 24 hours occurred in someone aged between 0 and 19 years-old.

It's the second death of someone under the age of 19 to be recorded in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began.

The deaths takes the total number of Covid related deaths in Northern Ireland since the beginning of the pandemic to 2,125.

One of the people to sadly pass away was from the Antrim and Newtownabbey council area.

It is not yet know which local council area the second death occurred.

One of those to die was male and the other person was a female.

There are currently 99 inpatients with Covid-19 across Northern Ireland - this figure was 128 seven days ago.

There are also 107 intensive care unit (ICU) beds - 10 of which are occupied by patients with Covid-19; 76 of which are occupied by patients with other conditions and 21 are currently unoccupied.

Hospital bed capacity in Northern Ireland is currently 102 per cent - this equates to an over capacity of 72 beds.
